gener8tor Named Global Venture Capital Firm of the Year
Honored at International Trade Council's Go Global Awards in Estonia
TALLINN, Estonia - The International Trade Council recently recognized gener8tor as the Venture Capital Firm of the Year. gener8tor received the award at ITC’s annual Go Global Awards gala in Tallinn, Estonia on Oct. 21.
There were more than 8,000 entrants for the 2022 Go Global Awards, and just 61 businesses were selected for recognition in their categories across business and economic development.
Founded in Wisconsin in 2012, gener8tor has grown into a global venture capital firm, with programming in more than 41 communities across the United States dedicated to accelerating the growth of startups, corporations, job seekers, artists and musicians. In 2022, gener8tor made its first foray into Europe with the launch of gener8tor Luxembourg, a 12-week startup accelerator focused on assisting Luxembourg-area companies driving systemic change at the corporate, government and community levels.
“We are honored to accept this distinguished global award recognizing the gener8tor team’s tireless efforts to remove barriers and drive business growth for entrepreneurs across the world,” said Joe Kirgues and Troy Vosseller, co-founders and partners at gener8tor. “Innovation is happening everywhere, driven by the motivated and talented creators we have the pleasure of working with each day. Thank you to ITC for highlighting our story.”
The “business world’s Oscars” conference and gala brought together more than 500 senior executives from the world’s most innovative manufacturers, re-manufacturers and exporters, along with representatives from government bodies, trade associations, venture capital firms and financial institutions.
“This is the first time that this international event, with more than 30 years of history, took place in a Nordic country, and it is no coincidence that it was in Estonia,“ said Solomon Addai, ITC Senior Board member. “First, Enterprise Estonia won the best Trade Promotion Agency title in last year’s edition. And second, the future vision of Estonia and its dizzyingly quick development inspired us to see the country’s bold decisions and agility with our own eyes.“
gener8tor was also recognized this year by Fast Company, ranking No. 31 on its fourth annual list of Best Workplaces for Innovators, and was named by Fast Company as one of the 10 Most Innovative Music Companies of 2020.

About the Go Global Awards:
The International Trade Council’s Go Global Awards celebrate organizations that drive the global economy through their innovations, technologies, and strategies.
The Go Global Awards follow a rigorous three-tiered review/selection process. Candidates begin the application process with a pre-screening / ranking phase. The top 20% of nominations across all categories are then cross-reviewed to ensure consistency. Finalists are then selected and move forward to the live judging event, where they present before independent members of the Go Global Awards Committee. The Awards Committee then cross-reviews the finalist presentations and the final decisions are announced at the Go Global Awards Day.
The Awards bring together hundreds of senior executives from some of the world’s most innovative manufacturers, exporters, technology firms, international service providers, venture capital firms and financial institutions.
While the Go Global Awards offer the opportunity to be recognized and honored by their peers it also goes beyond winning trophies and citations. The program aims to build a community of senior executives from across the globe to support one another, share ideas, create partnerships, and build on their existing knowledge and connections.
