While working as a finance manager at a nonprofit healthcare system, Stephanie Hoskins was shocked by the sheer volume of calls from patients desperately trying to negotiate their medical bills. In 2019, she and her husband Houston Hoskins launched Debtle, a software company that helps small and midsize healthcare organizations quickly resolve unpaid invoices without relying on third-party collection agencies. To date, they've raised $170,000 from Forum Ventures and Dorm Room Fund, among others.
